Manchester United have reportedly warned circling agents that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job is safe.

A number of agents are reported to have offered Old Trafford their services in finding a replacement.

It follows a poor start to the season that has been mitigated for by occasional big results, including a 3-2 win over Atalanta on Wednesday despite trailing 2-0 at half-time.

But The Sun reports that Old Trafford bosses have insisted he's going nowhere.

That comes despite some players allegedly questioning his credentials, particularly in terms of tactics.

It is understood that star midfielder Bruno Fernandes even told him he needed to switch up at half time in Wednesday's Champions League clash.

A source is purported to have told the paper: “It sounds like the inmates have taken over.”

Another added: “The message is not clear. There is confusion in the team, players don’t understand what the tactics are.

“There’s no team, it’s just individuals and there are big problems in the defence.”

Going into the game, club legend Paul Scholes found himself at the centre of a bizarre online storm.

His daughter Alicia, 19, shared a video to her Instagram story of the retired midfielder appearing to place a foot into his mouth and bite at the toenails.

Another said: “Who'd have thought Evra was the normal one in that team?”

A third said: “Genuinely want to break my phone and never touch social media again wtf did I just watch.”

Daily Star Sport has approached Scholes' representatives for a response.
