Man Utd have four players perfect for summer swap deals as Ten Hag eyes glory
Erik ten Hag reviews Man Utd's win against Fulham
Manchester United know they need more signings if they’re to pose a threat to Manchester City and their hopes of Premier League title supremacy next season. Right now, however, it’s unclear how much Erik ten Hag will have to spend. So Express Sport now takes a look at four standout players who would be perfect to use as leverage in potential swap deals…
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
United had been expected to jettison Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the January transfer window.
However, the right-back ended up staying put and has since gone on to improve at Old Trafford – often displacing Diogo Dalot from the side in the process.
While that’s the case, however, United still want to strengthen that area of their squad with Jeremie Frimpong one player under consideration.
The arrival of another right-back would pose a threat to Wan-Bissaka and his chances of regular game time.
With the 25-year-old now a player on the up again, he likely won’t be short of interested suitors.

Harry Maguire
Yes, Harry Maguire has failed to live up to expectations at United.
But the England international remains a top player when trusted by a manager, as his performances for the Three Lions at the World Cup in Qatar show.
United won’t get anywhere near the £80million they paid for the player back in the summer transfer window of 2019.
Therefore, using him as bait in a swap deal would make sense.
Inter Milan have been linked and, with United apparently having an interest in Lautaro Martinez, the proposal of an exchange can’t be ruled out.

Scott McTominay
Scott McTominay has always been a solid, if unspectacular, player for United.
Yet the Red Devils want another midfielder this summer, with Frenkie de Jong, Declan Rice, Adrien Rabiot, James Maddison and Mason Mount all linked.
McTominay is, therefore, likely to leave the club given he’s already struggling to be a regular in Ten Hag’s side.
West Ham will want a fee in the region of £120m to let Rice go.
And it’s possible United will suggest a swap involving McTominay in order to drive down the price of the England international.

Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial is certainly a curious case.
On his day, the United star can be brilliant. Had he been fit all season, it would have been interesting to see how many goals he’d have scored.
But Martial is divisive and, simply put, hasn’t done enough to warrant being the main man in the coming years.
Given his talent, the Red Devils will be hopeful of banking a decent fee for the 27-year-old.
Yet using him in an operation to land players such as Martinez, Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen could be a way to go as well.
What has Ten Hag said about transfers?
Speaking after United’s 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday, Ten Hag spoke out.
And the Dutchman admitted he needs more top quality players, while also appearing to take a sly dig at the Glazers for their refusal to splash the cash in January.
“The club knows if you want to play top four and compete for trophies in this league, then you have to invest,” said the 53-year-old.
“Otherwise you don’t have a chance, because other clubs will. We’ve seen it in the winter – all the clubs around us made huge investments.
“We didn’t, but still we made it, so I’m proud of my team.”
