Man Utd fans tell Maguire ‘you’re next’ after David de Gea departure confirmed
Manchester United fans have joked "you're next" to Harry Maguire – after David De Gea confirmed his spell at Old Trafford would be coming to an end.
The Spanish shot-stopper confirmed he would be leaving the Red Devils on Saturday – adding: "Manchester will always be in my heart, Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me." De Gea had spent 12 years in Manchester, but admitted it was the right time to go.
And while most United fans wished the Spaniard well in his next venture – some fans started to aim their frustrations at Maguire. United fans had been keen to see both De Gea and Maguire leave this summer.
With De Gea now off the books, United fans have started to turn their attention to Maguire. One fan tweeted: "It's hard to believe, but De Gea has left us before the likes of Maguire and Mctominay. Let that sink in. It just shows how badly we have been run as a football club!"

"Need Ten Hag to be ruthless again and get those deadwood players like McTominay, Maguire and Elanga out the door asap," a second added. While a third tweeted: "David's departure is a message to Maguire!"
"Maguire announcing his departure from Manchester United will fill me with so much joy," a fourth said. And another added: "Erik ten Hag got rid of our No7, De Gea and Harry Maguire is next!"

According to various reports, Ten Hag is looking to streamline his squad this season – with Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Fred, and Scott McTominay set to leave this summer.
Maguire could be left in a tricky situation, with the Englishman needing first-team minutes to cement his place at Euro 2024.
