Mason Greenwood left Manchester United viewers on the edge of their seats during the FA Cup win over West Ham on Tuesday evening.
United sealed the win in extra time thanks to a fine Scott McTominay strike and grabbed their ninth successive home win in the competition.
The game, in large, was a bit of a boring contest but there was one spark towards the end of the first half.
Controlling a clearance in his own half, Greenwood ran to the byline with his back to the opposition. With Mark Noble applying pressure from behind, the 19-year-old delicately spun sending the ball one side of the Hammers captain while running past him on the other.
Greenwood sprinted into the empty flank in front of him but failed to find his pass with the attack then breaking down.
The skill used by Greenwood was almost identical to the technique Dimitar Berbatov also displayed against West Ham.
In 2008 the Bulgarian deliciously spun his marker to set up Cristiano Ronaldo with a tap-in.
And this was not lost on United fans.
Greenwood was substituted just before full-time with many United fans believing Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial should have been sacrificed ahead of him.
But the United boss explained that he is trying to manage the teenager's game time to avoid a burn out.
"Mason did really well," Solskjaer said. "He played well. We're managing his minutes. He's played the last three now from the start and Anthony played a game the other week and didn't play the last game, so we wanted him to complete the game.
"Marcus, we wanted to keep him for the counter threats, the pace. Mason was really positive night."
