Man Utd fans hail ‘genius’ Rashford goal that was right off the training ground

Marcus Rashford was praised by fans after his textbook training ground goal gave Erik ten Hag's ever-improving Manchester United the lead against Nottingham Forest.

Rashford drove United fans wild when he took just one touch to latch onto Christian Eriksen's low cross from a corner and smash the ball into the top corner.

And the striker's interplay with Eriksen that was right off the training ground prompted United supporters to flock to Twitter and hail Rashford's sumptuous finish.

One fan crooned: "A truly brilliant training ground routine. Box players run in & Eriksen cuts it back to Rashford who sweeps home. Sensational!" And another supporter beamed: "What a finish by Rashford, straight off the training ground."

A third fan shared the same sentiment and added: "Rashford!!! Straight from the training ground. Fully rehearsed and perfectly executed."

A fourth user enthused: "RASHFORD!!! Training ground corner goal"Lovely that," alongside lovestruck emojis. And a fifth added: "What a goal!!! Eriksen-Rashford, genius."

It was Rashford's 17th goal of the season following his wonderstrike in the EFL Cup against Burnley. It was a special night for the England forward who equalled United legend Eric Cantona's of 64 goals.

But the striker also showed he's a team player by setting up team-mate Anthony Martial who scored the Red Devils' second goal at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

Rashford's rampant display will soften the blow for United after they missed out PSV star Cody Gakpo to rivals Liverpool.

The 25-year-old, fresh off the back of England's failed World Cup bid, also helped ruin former team-mate Jesse Lingard's return to Old Trafford, who was forced off with a hamstring injury early in the second half.

Lingard had lashed out at his former employers for freezing him out at United, and the attacker had hoped to leave Manchester with three points in the bag.

But Lingard was virtually non-existent in the match that United won 3-0, and they move within a point of fourth-placed Tottenham in the Premier League, while they're only four points behind high-flying Newcastle in second.
