Man Utd consider Jovic transfer and end Trippier interest as Atalanta eye James

Manchester United have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window so far, but they are still expected to complete further deals before it closes at the end of the month.

The Red Devils finally got their hands on Jadon Sancho last month, forking out £77million to prise him away from Borussia Dortmund.

Raphael Varane is also believed to be in Manchester carrying out a medical ahead of his £34million switch from Real Madrid.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still said to be on the hunt for further reinforcements, nevertheless, while a number of players could also depart Old Trafford.

So Daily Star Sport are on hand with the latest United transfer developments below.

Jovic bid discussed

As things stand, 34-year-old Edinson Cavani is the only natural centre-forward at Solskjaer's disposal ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

However, Tribal Football claim United chiefs have been discussing a potential move for Real Madrid frontman Luka Jovic, who the Spanish club are open to selling this summer.

Jovic, 23, sealed a switch to the Bernabeu after scoring 36 goals in 75 games for Eintracht Frankfurt, but he has only managed a return of two goals in 32 appearances for Los Blancos.

Trippier deal off the cards

United were heavily linked with a move for Kieran Trippier earlier in the window, but The Mirror are reporting that they have since cooled their interest in the Atletico Madrid right-back.

It is believed Solskjaer has been left surprised by the impressive pre-season form of Diogo Dalot, who is set to receive an unlikely route back into his squad this term.

Instead of meeting Atletico's £34million asking price for Trippier, the United boss will bring Dalot back to Old Trafford to serve as backup to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Atalanta eye James

Sancho's arrival in Manchester is likely to be bad news for Daniel James, who found first-team opportunities few and far between last season.

The 23-year-old may need to leave Old Trafford to play regular football in the coming campaign, and he is not short of suitors.
