Man Utd chief Ed Woodward’s three-point plan for Transfer Deadline Day

Manchester United have had a quiet January transfer window so far, but could be active throughout today’s deadline day.

The Red Devils haven’t brought anyone in this month, though Amad Diallo’s move from Atalanta officially went through after the winger was bought last summer.

United are expected to have a quiet day, and aren’t likely to bring anyone in today.

However, a few players could depart the club to make way for a summer spending spree, with Jadon Sancho and Dayot Upamecano still targets.

Here, Daily Star Sport takes a look at Ed Woodward’s three-point plan for transfer deadline day.

Dan James loan

United winger Daniel James could leave the club on loan on transfer deadline day.

The Welshman is apparently unhappy with his lack of playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and has been linked with a move away.

He’s been tipped to depart in order to get more first-team minutes, though Solskjaer appears to be keen to keep him at the club.

Marcos Rojo sale

Argentina defender Marcos Rojo could well depart the club today.

The centre-back hasn’t played for the club this season, and isn’t a part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.

He’s reportedly being lined up for a move to Boca Juniors, and is said to be ready to fly to Argentina imminently.

United are expected to terminate his contract today, a move that will free up some vital funds and room in the wage budget.

Sergio Romero decision

Rojo isn’t the only Argentine who is set to leave United, with Sergio Romero still expected to depart.

The goalkeeper was tipped to leave before the season began, but ended up staying put.

His contract will expire at the end of the season, and it seems Woodward will have to decide immediately whether to offer him an extension or sell him now.

Crystal Palace are reportedly eager to make a move, and could well launch a surprise bid today.
