Man Utd boss Ten Hag could be without six players for FA Cup final vs Man City

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could be without six players for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City. Several stars have already been ruled out while a couple are under a fitness cloud heading into the game.

United will attempt to stop City in their tracks in their pursuit of a treble. Ten Hag has already won one domestic trophy in his debut campaign in English football after lifting the Carabao Cup in February.

The Red Devils know they will have to be at their best to thwart Pep Guardiola’s side, a week before their Champions League final against Inter Milan. Ten Hag knows he will not have a full squad to choose from at Wembley.

He will be hoping to get players back to fitness in the next few days. Express Sport looks at the six stars he could be without.

Donny van de Beek

Van de Beek has been missing with a knee injury since early January. He was swiftly ruled out for the remainder of the season by Ten Hag.

The Netherlands international could be fit for the start of pre-season in July. Whether his long-term future is at United remains to be seen.

Lisandro Martinez

Saturday will come too soon for Martinez. The foot injury suffered in April ended his campaign early.

There was hope he could make it back for the Wembley showpiece. However, Ten Hag says that won’t be the case and he will welcome him back in pre-season.

Marcel Sabitzer

Sabitzer suffered a knee injury in mid-May and was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the season. The loanee looks to have played his final game for the club.

Sabitzer will be allowed to leave Bayern Munich this summer. United are reported to have decided against signing him permanently.

Antony

Antony has a chance of making the squad on Saturday. He suffered a foot injury during the win over Chelsea last Thursday.

He didn’t feature against Fulham on Sunday but Ten Hag is hopeful he will be okay to play this weekend.

Anthony Martial

Martial’s injury nightmare at United continues. The club revealed on Tuesday he has picked up a hamstring problem and won’t be available to play.

He made just 11 starts in the Premier League this season. The Frenchman has missed matches due to Achilles, back and hip injuries respectively this term.

Luke Shaw

Shaw is the likeliest to feature out of this list. He limped off with a back problem at half-time of the win over Chelsea.

The England star was named on the bench for the 2-1 win over Fulham but did not come on. Back issues can be tricky but Shaw will be in line to start if he gets through training this week.
