Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit back at his critics, who claim he has gone through crisis times at Old Trafford.

United boss Solskjaer has addressed criticisms claiming he has landed the club in crisis during his time in charge.

The Norweigan replaced Jose Mourinho in late 2018, initially as interim before landing the job on a permanent basis.

And it has been a rollercoaster of a ride so far, up and down the Premier League, but the Red Devils find themselves in an unlikely title race.

It is a remarkable turnaround from the start of the season, where United were written off and Solskjaer was battling for his job.

Reports amplified after their early knockout from the Champions League that he could be about to be sacked following a third-place finish in the group stage.

But they trail Manchester City in the league, sitting second ahead of the likes of champions Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.

And Solskjaer has hit back at claims there have been crisis moments at Old Trafford during his reign.

When asked about a new contract, the former Cardiff manager told VG: “I have not thought about that, and we have not discussed it at all.

“I am just focusing on doing my job and, as you say, part of the job is to stabilize things.

“We have a job to do in order to find consistency on the pitch. Outside the pitch it is still a crisis if you lose a game.

“If you concede a goal in stoppage time against Everton, it still creates big headlines. That can happen in football.

“But on the inside it is more stable. We feel like we are on our way towards what we sat down and discussed, what we planned.”

United have stumbled recently in the Premier League after a loss to Sheffield United and draws to Everton, Arsenal and West Brom.

But there was also an incredible 9-0 win over Southampton sandwiched between those results while they face Real Sociedad next in the Europa League.
