Man Utd and Arsenal duo backed to flop as Liverpool star named best new signing
Manchester United and Arsenal players have been backed to flop following big-money moves this summer. Mason Mount and Kai Havertz have had miserable starts at their new clubs and that could be set to continue.
That is according to Express Sport readers, who have given their verdict on the summer transfer window. We asked you what you rated as the best and worst signings of the summer.
We also wanted to know which deal on deadline day will prove to be the most successful. Chelsea continued their massive spending under Todd Boehly and have now splashed out over £1billion since the American bought the club.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool were also all busy bringing in new recruits. After receiving 7,684 votes, we take a look at who you voted to win each category in our recent poll.

Who was the best deadline day signing?
There were some big deals on the final day of the window. Brighton signing Ansu Fati on loan was deemed the best, winning 30 per cent of the vote.
Liverpool completed a late deal for Ryan Gravenberch and that was second on 24 per cent. United finally got their hands on Sofyan Amrabat and he came in third at 20 per cent.
Manchester City signed Matheus Nunes, Cole Palmer finalised his switch to Chelsea and Brennan Johnson signed for Tottenham late on. However, each player received 10 per cent or less of your vote.

Who is the best summer signing?
Dominik Szoboszlai was voted the signing of the summer by the readers. The Hungary star joined Liverpool in July after his £65m release clause was triggered and he collected 31 per cent of your vote.
James Maddison looks to have been a bargain for Tottenham at £40m and the England star came second in the voting with 28 per cent. Declan Rice was one of the biggest movers, joining Arsenal for £105m.
He came in at third with 24 per cent. City’s purchase of Josko Gvardiol picked up seven per cent, as did Andre Onana’s move to United, while Moises Caicedo to Chelsea only received three per cent of the votes.
Who is the worst summer signing?
Mount and Havertz both left Chelsea in mega-money deals. Mount is now injured while Havertz has struggled to impress in his opening weeks as an Arsenal player.
The German picks up your award for worst signing after receiving 40 per cent of the votes ahead of Mount on 37 per cent. Ashley Young’s free transfer to Everton was third on 14 per cent.
Wataru Endo’s surprise move to Liverpool came in fourth ahead of Pedro Porro, who completed a permanent move to Spurs.
