Lokomotiv Moscow have un-retired their number 10 shirt in order to give it to new signing Faustino Anjorin after he joined on an initial loan from Chelsea on Thursday.

The 19-year-old will spend the season in Russia, with Lokomotiv having the option to make the deal permanent from January onwards for £17million.

If this happens, then Chelsea will have a buy-back clause in the players contract to allow them to re-sign him for a fee worth £34million in the future.

Anjorin was at Chelsea for over 12 years having originally joined the club's academy as a seven-year-old back in 2008.

Lokomotiv Moscow have given Anjorin their famous number 10 shirt after it was originally retired eight years ago following the end of club legend Dmitri Loskov's career in 2013.

Now assistant manager, Loskov presented Anjorin with his shirt after he was announced as a Lokomotiv player on Thursday.

Loskov is Lokomotiv's record appearance maker and goal scorer having bagged 128 goals in 421 appearances for the three-time Russian champions.

Anjorin will now look to follow in his footsteps as he arrives from the Champions League winners after making just five first team appearances.

However, the England youth international showed his quality in the club's under-23 side as he provided 28 goals and assists in 35 matches.

This form made the attacking midfielder a highly-rated talent at Chelsea and yet another promising youngster to emerge from the club's academy in recent years.

His ability in the Chelsea development sides and in his five first team appearances caught the eye of Lokomotiv's head of sports and development, Ralf Rangnick, who is believed to have been key to the deal.

Rangnick, who was instrumental in the rise of RB Leipzig in Germany, convinced the 19-year-old to make the move to Russia and leave his comfortable surroundings at Chelsea.

Anjorin will now play in the Europa League with Lokomotiv this season, the club's reward for their third-placed finish in the Russian Premier League last term.

They have been drawn alongside Lazio, Marseille and Galatasaray in their group and are also unbeaten after six league matches this season.

Anjorin could make his debut for his new club next weekend as they host Krylya Sovetov on Saturday lunchtime in the Russian Premier League.
