Luis Suarez has taken aim at Ronald Koeman over his Barcelona departure, insisting the Dutchman has "no personality".

Suarez was deemed surplus to requirements by Koeman upon his arrival at the Nou Camp last summer, meaning he completed a move to La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid after seeing a proposed switch to Juventus fall through.

However, that decision eventually backfired for both Koeman and Barca, as the Uruguay striker's tally of 21 league goals helped Atletico beat them to the Spanish title this season.

He enjoyed a superb campaign under Diego Simeone, even scoring the goal that crowned them champions in Saturday's 2-1 win over Valladolid.

And after inspiring Atletico's title triumph, Suarez has hit out at Barca in a fiery interview with El Partidazo de COPE.

The former Liverpool star claims Koeman gave him mixed messages before his departure, while also slamming former president Josep Maria Bartomeu for not telling him he was being put up for sale directly.

Suarez said: "Koeman, after saying that he didn't count on me, then told me 'if tomorrow your situation isn't solved, I will count on you for the game against Villarreal.' I saw that he had no personality."

He then added: "“Bartomeu or any board member at Barça did not call me, but I was going to send them a small picture [after winning the title with Atletico]…"

When asked who treated him badly at Barca, Suarez said: “First, President Bartomeu who said everything in the press instead of calling me in person to tell me they did not want me, why did they not say that in person?

"They would use me to try to convince Leo [Messi] to stay. But, then, they wouldn't talk to me directly when it was about me."
