Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold got immediate revenge on Leeds fans who mocked him

Liverpool's full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold almost instantly got revenge on the Elland Road crowd, who had mocked the defender with chants.

The Reds produced a sparkling display in Yorkshire, but the fixture was overshadowed by a sickening injury to Harvey Elliott.

Leeds fans had chanted: "You're just a s*** Kyle Walker," towards Alexander-Arnold during the first 15 minutes of the clash.

However, with just over 20 minutes on the clock, Alexander-Arnold pulled a ball back to Mohamed Salah from the byline, and the Egyptian just had to tap it home.

The Liverpudlian then pointed to his ear as the Elland Road faithful looked on in silence.

Manchester City's Walker had been selected ahead of Alexander-Arnold for the last international break before Euro 2020.

And it was expected Walker would be given the nod ahead of his younger compatriot at the festival of football.

But an injury to Alexander-Arnold meant he was dropped by Gareth Southgate before the tournament could get underway.

Earlier this month, Southgate opted to play Walker over Alexander-Arnold at right-back, moving the Liverpudlian into the midfield.

A decision that baffled Jurgen Klopp: "That is possible but why would you make the best right-back in the world a midfielder? I don't understand that really."

Liverpool went on to score two more goals, through Fabinho and Sadio Mane, as they ran away with the clash.

The Reds moved up to third in the Premier League, and they were only denied top spot due to Manchester United finding the net two more times than Liverpool.
