Liverpool star skills four defenders and scores – while in her wedding dress
Liverpool star Rhiannon Roberts celebrated tying the knot with her partner by destroying defenders in her wedding dress.
The 31-year-old central-defender married former Blackburn Rovers coach Nathan Rooney earlier this month at stunning Lancashire venue MItton Hall. The football-mad duo celebrated the wedding as one might expect – with a classic jumpers for goalposts-type football match.
In hilarious video footage which has since gone viral, they took part in a classic ‘Girls vs Boys’ kickabout after the reception. And the Liverpool star’s talent shone through as she masterfully dribbled four defenders, all while holding her flowing wedding dress up.
Roberts, or Razza as she is affectionately known, then proceeded to strike the ball into the miniature-sized goal as friends and Liverpool teammates swarmed around to celebrate with her.
She uploaded the clip on Instagram with the caption: "How weddings should be.”
After the long-awaited ceremony, Roberts said: "On behalf of my husband and I, we would like to thank everyone who came to celebrate with us and for all kind messages and gifts.

"After three times of trying we had the most amazing day. We can’t wait to start married life together and to see what the future holds. Love Mr & Mrs Rooney".
It comes after the happy couple’s wedding was first cancelled in March 2020 after the coronavirus pandemic struck. And after another failed attempt in 2021, they have finally been able to enjoy a honeymoon in Rome.
Welsh international Roberts joined Liverpool in 2018 after helping Doncaster Rovers Belles win the WSL2 title. She guided the Reds to a Championship win last season to earn promotion back into the top flight of the Women’s Super League following a two-year absence.
