Liverpool are determined to sanction several sales this summer to help boost Jurgen Klopp’s transfer budget. Klopp’s current squad is overcrowded and includes plenty of deadwood who could help generate funds for a midfielder and forward.
Liverpool have had a quiet transfer window so far in terms of both incomings and outgoings.
The capture of RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate is exciting, but the loss of Georginio Wijnaldum on a free transfer is a blow.
More departures are expected ahead of the 2021/22 season, with Klopp’s squad currently populated by more than 30 players.
Based on recent reports, the Reds have players in mind when it comes to making sales this summer.

According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are hoping to raise at least £22million by offloading Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson.
Liverpool are ‘determined’ to sell Wilson and want £10m for the 24-year-old, whose contract expires in 2023.
Wilson has spent the last three-and-a-half seasons out on loan, with his latest stint at Cardiff City coming after an £11m move to Burnley collapsed last year.
The Wales international wants top-flight football in England or abroad, with Benfica and Brentford reportedly interested.

The Daily Mirror report Liverpool value Grujic at £12m, with Sassuolo and unnamed clubs in Germany interested.
Grujic has also spent almost four years away on loan, and Porto, his temporary club last season, are also said to want him permanently.
On top of Wilson and the Serbian midfielder, fringe players like Xherdan Shaqiri, Neco Williams, Loris Karius, Sheyi Ojo, Ben Woodburn, and Taiwo Awoniyi are also up for sale.
One of Klopp’s stars of last term, Nathaniel Phillips, is also free to leave after the arrival of Konate and Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip’s return to fitness.
With a month-and-a-half of the transfer window to go, there’s still plenty of time for Liverpool to complete ingoing and outgoing transfers.
Euro 2020 and Copa America’s conclusions will prompt an increased urgency with deals, especially with clubs wanting players before the season starts in just less than 30 days.
With Liverpool spending £35m on Konate, the club can undoubtedly back Klopp further without the need for sales.
However, it seems like the squad needs trimming before any new signings are made.
