The two best youngsters on the planet are on the market this summer and Liverpool might not have a better chance than this transfer window to sign one. Kylian Mbappe is having contract troubles at Paris Saint-Germain whereas Erling Haaland has been told by Borussia Dortmund he can leave for £127m.
Liverpool have a new choice to make amid links to Mbappe and Haaland this summer.
The Reds are looking to bolster their frontline with the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Sarah rumoured to want to leave.
The two terrific talents have been key players under Jurgen Klopp but there is a feel that their cycle at Anfield could be over with their contracts expiring in 2023.
Though there is a reasonable amount of time left on those deals, Liverpool are looking to the future and there are not many better youngsters on the planet compared to Mbappe and Haaland.
The Premier League champions are linked to both of them and there could be no better chance to sign one than this summer.
According to Marca, PSG are growing tired with Mbappe and his refusal to sign a new contract yet.
His current deal expires next summer and could leave for a free transfer at the end of the 2021/22 season, which is putting massive pressure on the Ligue 1 champions.
As a result, they have lowered their asking price for the Frenchman to kickstart a potential transfer away in a bid to make some money.
It is reported that PSG would accept an offer between €120m-€150m (£102.15m- £127.68m) in a boost to Liverpool’s efforts.
However, Mino Raiola has been in town to talk to the Reds over a potential move for his client – Haaland.
The Norway international is hot property at the moment, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona interested in his services.
After 33 goals in 31 appearances, Dortmund have slapped a £127m price-tag on the 20-year-old as they look to ward off clubs.
But with a feeding frenzy set to go ahead this summer, the Bundesliga outfit might be resigned to losing their star man.
Regardless, it will Liverpool with a huge decision to make in the transfer window over who to sign.
With both roughly costing the same amount of money, it would likely come down to several varying factors such as manager’s preference, contract offers and incentives.
