Liverpool are said to be in the picture for Bournemouth forward Arnaut Danjuma, according to surprise reports in Spain. The Dutch forward was amongst the best players in the Championship last season, where he hit 17 goals in 35 outings for the Cherries during their failed promotion bid.

Danjuma joined the club from Club Brugge in the summer of 2019 but struggled to showcase his quality in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old only played 14 times due to injury and failed to register a goal or assist in the top-flight.

A change in the dugout worked in his favour though as Danjuma exploded into life last term to record his best career goal tally to date.

Now Marca in Spain claim Liverpool are amongst those in contention to sign the attacker this summer.

Villareal are the favourites for his signature having already made a formal bid.

The La Liga outfit saw an offer of £12.8million rejected by Bournemouth, who are holding out for their full valuation of the player.

It’s understood Scott Parker’s side want around £21m for the jet-heeled, tricky winger.

Ideally, they would like to keep Danjuma and are hopeful he can fire them back to the Premier League.
