Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Torino central defender Bremer for the summer transfer window, despite having added two new centre-halves to their squad in January in Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies.
The Reds have been crippled by injuries at the back with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip making just 22 Premier League appearances combined this season – compared to the 24 of left-back Andy Robertson.
None of the trio are expected to play again this season while Fabinho, the first-choice stand-in, is also currently absent with a muscle problem.
Klopp signed Kabak on loan from Schalke with an option to make the move permanent at the cost of £18million in the winter window, also recruiting Davies in a low-cost deal from Preston North End.
Kabak made his debut against Leicester but was involved in a horrible mix-up with goalkeeper Alisson as the Premier League champions fell to a 3-1 defeat at the King Power Stadium.
Liverpool boss Klopp came to the defence of the Turkey international and his shot-stopper after the final whistle and has spoken well of Kabak’s performances in training.
Davies, meanwhile, missed out on the trip to the Midlands with a knock and has yet to make his debut.
But the Daily Mirror say that regardless, Liverpool have made Bremer their top target for the summer.
The 23-year-old is reportedly viewed by Liverpool’s scouting department as a player who would complement Virgil Van Dijk well.
Gomez, still just 23 himself, was the main partner to Van Dijk in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign last term while Matip stood alongside the Dutchman as the Merseyside club won the Champions League the previous year.
But given their lengthy lay-offs, Liverpool want to further boost their back-line and Torino are said to be aware that the Premier League side are one of several clubs keen.
The Brazilian has racked up 62 appearances for the Serie A club, scoring eight goals, since joining from Atletico Mineiro.
Bremer is under contract in Turin until 2023 but the Mirror say Liverpool may be able to prise the defender away for £10million or less.
That fee makes the player even more attractive for the Reds given they are working with limited finances amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has seen their revenues drop significantly.

Liverpool believe Bremer has the attributes to be a valuable addition although it remains to be seen, if they do shore up their interest, what that means for Kabak and maybe even Matip.
Signing Bremer would give Liverpool at least five senior centre-backs for next season alongside Van Dijk, Gomez, Matip and Davies – while Kabak can be signed on a full-time basis.
Matip has not started three successive Premier League games for Liverpool since September 2019 with the Cameroonian having been dogged by fitness issues since moving to Anfield from Schalke in 2016.
But Klopp’s comments after his latest problem appeared to indicate the player still features in his manager’s long-term plans, with Matip contracted until 2024.
“He will be ready for the start of the next pre-season and finally everything will be sorted,” Klopp said confidently last month.
And it is unclear whether Liverpool will tie down Kabak permanently and look to sign Bremer at the same time.
RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate is another promising young defender heavily linked with Liverpool, although Chelsea and Manchester United are also admirers of the Frenchman.
With Liverpool set to relinquish their Premier League crown to Manchester City this season, Klopp and co. will be setting their sights on a better shot at the title next term, and fresh recruitment would aid their chances.
