Yves Bissouma is certainly not shy in stating what he wants in his career and Liverpool could well be the perfect platform for him to shine. The Brighton midfielder has been tipped for a bright future having impressed in the Premier League since moving to the south coast in 2018.

Under Graham Potter’s guidance, Bissouma has now begun attracting interest from the elite clubs in the Premier League.

It was reported that Brighton were seeking a fee in the region of £40million for their star midfielder, who has helped the Seagulls pick up four wins from five so far this season.

Liverpool were seemingly in the market for a midfielder during the summer transfer window who was able to replace Georginio Wijnaldum.

Jurgen Klopp though made it clear that the club would only make signings who were going to improve the starting line-up immediately.

Funds were also tight at the Anfield club with Ibrahima Konate being the only first-team recruit this summer.

Liverpool boss Klopp indicated that he was happy with the options he already has in midfield for the new season.

Thiago Alcantara is expected to play more minutes while Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will also be fighting for Wijnaldum’s spot.

Harvey Elliott had held down a regular place in Klopp’s starting line-up to start the season until he suffered a horrific ankle injury against Leeds.

DON’T MISS

Next summer is now being touted as a time where Liverpool may need to make big changes, particularly further forward with the contracts for Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all running out in 2023.

But there may also be a need to freshen up their midfield options with Jones the only player who will be under the age of 27 this time next year.

Bissouma only recently turned 25 and he’s now spoken out on his intentions to move on from Brighton soon with the hope of joining a team capable of challenging for the title.

“I didn’t go this summer, maybe its because it’s not my time to go,” he told Brighton and Hove Albion.

“When my time will come, it’s my time, but I’m happy in Brighton, I’m enjoying playing football.

“My dream is like every player, I want to play in the Champions League, I want to be champions.

“I want to compare myself on the top level, not just with other players.”

Liverpool have already proven their title credentials this season early on and there will be some pressure on Klopp to deliver a trophy after last year’s disappointing campaign.
