Liverpool’s higher powers have reportedly been told to scout Ibrahim Adel by Mohamed Salah, who may see the youngster as his long-term successor at Anfield. The forward has numerous Premier League suitors and may be available for just £5million.
Fears grew over the summer that Liverpool may have needed a second marquee signing following the arrival of Darwin Nunez, with Salah’s contract expiring. However, the former Roma star eventually penned a new deal at Anfield that will keep him at the club until 2025.
And now the 30-year-old appears to be putting plans in place for when he does eventually leave Anfield by calling for the club to recruit another Egyptian to pass the mantle over to. According to 90min, Salah has ensured that the Reds are scouting Pyramids star Adel – though they already were prior to those conversations.
The 21-year-old has been dubbed the ‘next Mohamed Salah’ by many in Egypt, and the high level of interest from European sides may suggest that the view is shared by many. Nottingham Forest have also shown an interest in Adel, with Arsenal another said to be keeping tabs on the situation.

Pyramids are said to value Adel at just £5m, which was why they rejected a £2m offer from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland over the summer. The interest did, however, spark Pyramids into action as they handed the forward a new long-term deal that will keep his club until 2026 – thus increasing his value.
Brighton and Brentford are also thought to be keen on Adel, who will need to be loaned out to another European side to be granted a work permit to play in the Premier League. Those keeping tabs on the winger, amongst others, may be forced into making their interest concrete in January when offers arrive.

Liverpool have made an underwhelming start to the season and will be hoping to get their campaign back on track this weekend when they take on Brighton on Saturday. Speaking to Sportskeeda about the match, Arsenal hero Paul Merson believes that anything but a win for the Reds will them struggle to mount a title charge.
He said: “If they don’t win their next two league matches, they might find themselves out of the title race. Liverpool’s players have not featured heavily in the international break. Fabinho played only 70 minutes for Brazil, but he has travelled quite a bit.
“Thiago wasn’t picked by Spain for their Nations League fixtures, and he’ll be fresh going into this game. Jurgen Klopp will persist with Salah and Luis Diaz in his forward line. I think he’s got to play Darwin Nunez as well – they paid a massive fee for him and they now have to back him. I’m still going with Liverpool to win.”
