Lionel Messi pictured viewing second incredible Miami house with family

Lionel Messi was seen viewing a stunning house in Florida as the World Cup champion eyes a new home in the area following his historic move to Inter Miami. Messi was joined by wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their eldest son Thiago, who donned his father’s MLS jersey.

Earlier this month, Messi’s incredible move to the United States was confirmed and he was unveiled at the DRV PNL Stadium. He certainly ensured the welcome was justified as the 36-year-old struck a dramatic free-kick winner in the closing moments of his first game.

Since arriving, Messi has taken over as Inter Miami captain and enjoyed a fine start to life in Florida, scoring three times in two victorious games in the Leagues Cup. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, joined at the club by former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, is now looking for a permanent home.

Messi and Antonela were seen smiling as they were shown around a remarkable house in Boca Raton, a city in Palm Beach County. It is an hour north of Miami but just 25 minutes from Inter Miami’s stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Messi was shown around the house, which appeared to include a golf putting green with a figure taking the time to give the soccer star a quick demonstration. The house could be the next home for Messi and Antonela, who married in 2017 and have three children together.

If Messi decides to purchase the property, it would not be his first in South Florida. The family already owns a lavish $9 million (£7m) apartment that boasts stunning views of Sunny Isle Beach and the city of Miami. They were also pictured viewing another property in the area last week.

The incredible apartment houses a private restaurant, an outdoor lounge facing the sea and a cinema, as well as golf and racing simulators. Messi reportedly bought the apartment, which is situated in the Porsche Design Tower, back in 2019. The 60-floor tower lies between Bal Harbour and Aventura, approximately 25 minutes away from the DRV PNK Stadium.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star can certainly afford such expense. As part of his Inter Miami contract, Messi will reportedly receive a compensation package that includes part of Apple TV’s revenue generated by MLS Season Pass as well as a share of Adidas profits from his arrival.

While he has been joined by several former Barcelona stars, Luis Suarez will not be coming to Miami before the end fo the year. Talks between Gremio and Inter Miami broke down, with the Uruguayan lamenting the circumstances as he hopes to play alongside Messi once more.

“With Messi, we dream of retiring together,” Suarez told Punto Penal. “It was something that we always planned when we were at Barcelona. And from one year to the next I went to Atletico and he went to PSG (Paris Saint-Germain).

“We dreamed of it and we talked about it that after Barcelona we would go to the United States and nothing happened at the time. Now he made the decision to go there and from what you can see, he looks happy and we hope that at some point that possibility will occur.”
