Leeds have four promising next manager options as Sam Allardyce ‘set to leave’
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reviews Leeds win
Leeds United are soon to be on the hunt for a new permanent manager amid reports that Sam Allardyce will leave his post after just four matches. Relegation from the Premier League is set to see the Whites pursue a new beginning in the dugout, and Express Sport takes you through four of the leading candidates…
Steven Gerrard
The Liverpool legend has had to wait patiently for the perfect opportunity after his disappointing spell at Aston Villa. Gerrard had previously built up a stellar reputation by managing a devastating Rangers side, but it took an almighty hit when he was axed by the West Midlands club last October.
His misery has been compounded by the fact that Unai Emery has gone on to extract considerably more from the players at Villa Park. But a big name like Gerrard belongs at a big club, and a drop down to the Championship with Leeds could be exactly what he needs to get his managerial career back on track.

Brendan Rodgers
There would surely be little resistance from Leeds supporters if the club appointed Rodgers as their next boss. The 50-year-old was sacked by Leicester City in April, but senior figures at the King Power Stadium were made to regret that decision when they were relegated under Dean Smith anyway.
Rodgers led Leicester to the brink of Champions League qualification in 2020/21, not to mention his trophy-laden spell at Celtic and a Premier League title near-miss at Liverpool. The only question is whether the Northern Irishman would be willing to drop down to the second tier.

Patrick Vieira
Like Gerrard, Vieira represents a big name who still has plenty to prove as a manager. He left Crystal Palace in March after a dismal run of form, and his image was damaged when Roy Hodgson subsequently came in and turned results around with immediate effect.
But appointing Vieira would surely get the attention of the Leeds dressing room and he did have positive moments during nearly two years at Selhurst Park, as he did during prior stints at New York City FC and OGC Nice.
Carlos Corberan
Leeds could draw a line under their Premier League stint and opt for a manager who specialises in Championship success. Corberan certainly fits into that category with two productive years at Huddersfield Town on his CV, as well as an impressive play-off push with West Bromwich Albion this campaign.
Corberan is still contracted to the Baggies but he has been linked elsewhere before, and a spell managing Leeds Under-23s is sure to do his chances of returning to Elland Road no harm whatsoever.
