Serie A side Lazio are pushing hard to try and secure an imminent transfer for wantaway Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, according to reports.
Discussions have been ongoing between the two clubs as they attempt to find an arrangement for the French World Cup winner who is seeking a new challenge away from the Premier League.
And Lazio are now determined to try and complete a deal after their shot-stopper Luis Maximiano departed for Almeria following just one season.
Lloris is one of the names topping Lazio’s shortlist and could join before the new Serie A season gets underway at the weekend, as reported by Gianluca di Marzio.
Lazio, managed by former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, are continuing to discuss sealing Lloris’ exit from Tottenham after Ange Postecoglou made it clear the goalkeeper wasn’t part of his plans.

The Italian top-flight side are negotiating a fee while Lloris continues to analyse all available options around Europe.
However, the former France captain is said to be favouring a move to Lazio above ll other offers and is ‘keen’ on joining.
That is largely because the club can provide Lloris with Champions League football next season after qualifying for Europe’s premier cup competition.
There was previous hope that Spurs might allow the 36-year-old to leave for free, however club chairman Daniel Levy is keen to secure a fee given Lloris still has a year remaining on his existing contract.

Announcing his decision to leave London, Lloris told French media in June: ‘We are coming to an important moment, whether for the club or for me. It’s the end of an era. I have desires for other things.
‘I will ask myself quietly to study what will be possible. But I don’t forget that I still have a year of contract with Tottenham and that in football it is always difficult to predict what will happen.
‘What is essential at the moment is to recover well from my injury. I’m on vacation but I continue to talk and do my training.
‘My goal is to be on top in July, then we’ll see what the future holds for me.’
