Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez wants to stay at the club this summer, despite Tottenham Hotspur agreeing a fee to sign him, according to his agent. Spurs and Inter have reportedly shaken hands on a deal in excess of £60million for Martinez.

According to The Times, Inter have accepted an offer from Tottenham worth £60m plus possible add-ons to boost the fee up to their £75m valuation.

Nuno Espirito Santo plans to play Martinez alongside Harry Kane as part of an exciting attack featuring Son Heung-min.

If Spurs secure the Argentina international’s services, they would’ve beaten Arsenal in the race.

The Gunners were reportedly eyeing a move for Martinez as part of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite the reports on Sunday suggesting Martinez was closing in on a move to Spurs, that may not be the case based on his agent’s recent comments.

Alejandro Camano has told Italian media that the 23-year-old has decided to stay at Inter ahead of the 2021/22 season.

He said: “Lautaro is happy at Inter and in Italy. His decision is to stay.

“He’s never going to have a fight with Inter to leave the club. Never. Lautaro’s an Inter player and he’s happy in Italy.”
