Laura Woods outs Spurs fan for ‘grim’ post trolling her after Arsenal collapse

Laura Woods hit back at a social media taunt she described as 'grim' which aimed to mock her following Arsenal's failure in the title race.

The ITV and talkSPORT presenter often enjoys banter with rival supporters on social media – but a comment she was sent on Sunday at the end of the Gunners' 3-0 home defeat to Brighton more than crossed the line of acceptability.

The repulsive message, which we won't repeat in full, began "get some of that down ya you absolute biased s***," before descending into vile sexual taunts.

That post was swiftly deleted after Woods replied: "I really don’t mind ‘banter’ but stuff like this is just grim."

In addition, after Woods posted a screenshot of the tweet with details of the user, the account itself was deleted, as she was praised in the comments.

One reply said: "Why would anyone think this is ok to do?" A second follower added: "Shocking, unnecessary, embarrassing."

A third post read: "Pathetic, I’m no Arsenal fan and love a joke but this is absolutely pathetic."

With the deleted account having previously tweeted about supporting Tottenham, some fan called on the club to take action. Meanwhile, Woods went on to post a screengrab of the deleted tweet, adding: "Don't worry… I'll keep it here for you"

On the pitch, goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav and Pervis Estupinan left Arsenal four points away from Manchester City at the top.

Additionally, City have three games to play while Arsenal only have two, with Martin Odegaard admitting that their dream is over.

He said on Sky Sports: "Yeah it feels like that [whether the title is over]. It is going to be very difficult now we have to be honest. It is tough to take.
