Laura Woods can’t help but laugh as Carl Froch makes "erotic" error during fight

Laura Woods struggled to contain herself as Carl Froch made an "erotic" error live on air.

Woods and Froch were analysing Campbell Hatton's victory on the undercard of Connor Benn vs Chris van Heerden for DAZN on Saturday when the former boxer made the hilarious slip-up. Woods asked Froch how Hatton had developed and improved in his fledging fighting career.

Froch intended to say the 21-year-old looked "erratic" during the fight but got himself in a muddle and blurted out the word "erotic" instead. That prompted a surprised reaction from Sky Sports favourite Woods, who looked at the camera and appeared to bite her lip to stop herself from laughing.

Woods wasn't the only one who noticed Froch's error, with tens of boxing fans commenting on the moment on Twitter. One person wrote: "Laura Woods face when Carl Froch says erotic instead of erratic is cracking me up."

Someone else said: "I didn't even notice this tonight, forget Easter, this is amazing." While another user commented: "@laura_woodsy trying to keep a straight face when @Carl_Froch uses the erotic instead of erratic."

Woods replied to one clip of the incident with a series of laughing emojis and a skull emoji. Despite Hatton's erratic tendencies, the son of boxing legend Ricky extended his professional record to 6-0 with victory over Ezequiel Gregores.

However, former world champion Tony Bellew was left worried at the punishment dished out to Hatton over the six rounds. "Campbell is a face-first fighter and he took an awful lot tonight," Bellew said on DAZN. "I was uncomfortable with some of the right hands he was taking and how he was taking them."

Froch also offered some words of advice for the youngster, saying: "He didn't have any respect for any of the punches coming back because they had no power. You can allow him that mistake if you like. He's keen and eager to get his shots off; he wants to impress and he wants to put that Ricky Hatton performance in which [featured] a ferocious pace.

"But you need a big engine for that and a big heart and you need to be able to go through the gears which is what Ricky Hatton did. [Campbell's] headwork and footwork is limited because of his lack of amateur experience; he's a raw novice. I don't want to put him down and rip him apart but he's got to realise…

"People in the boxing game know he's learning on the job and he's making up for the time lost in the amateurs. He needs to enjoy himself and learn while he's progressing; you cant chuck him in too deep."
