  • Fans have until 6pm (BST) on Thursday to vote for their Goal of the Season
  • Manuel Lanzini’s late thunderbolt against Tottenham is a leading contender

  • Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Leicester’s James Maddison have also been included

Manuel Lanzini’s last-minute effort against Tottenham for West Ham and Erik Lamela’s sumptuous rabona for in the north London derby are amongst nine goals shortlisted for the Premier League Goal of the Season.

Supporters have until 6pm (BST) on Thursday to vote for their favourite strike of the season, with Mo Salah, Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani also included in the field.

Leicester’s James Maddison, Fulham defender Ola Aina, ex-West Ham forward Sebastian Haller and on-loan Hammers attacker Jesse Lingard finish the nine-man shortlist.

Manuel Lanzini’s thunderbolt is one of nine goals listed for Premier League Goal of the Season

Erik Lamela’s inspired rabona goal for Tottenham against Arsenal is also included in the field

Maddison’s goal was a long-range curler in the Foxes’ 5-2 win at Manchester City in the third week of the season, as the playmaker flighted the ball perfectly into the corner beyond Ederson.

Yet Lanzini’s goal perhaps goes down as the most dramatic of all nine on the shortlist.

David Moyes’ West Ham side were 3-0 down against Spurs before they came roaring back and Lanzini’s first-time effort from 30 yards sealed a memorable draw for the visitors in the final moments of the game, sparking jubilant celebrations from Moyes and the Hammers bench.

Next in the reel is Aina’s goal against West Brom in November – a pinpoint left-footed finish into the top-corner in a 2-0 win at Craven Cottage.

Haller’s goal was a stunning bicycle kick in a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium in December against Crystal Palace, though the forward would move to Ajax a month later in the January transfer window.

Mo Salah’s deft touch and finish for Liverpool against West Ham in January is on the shortlist

Edinson Cavani’s goal last month against Fulham for 40 yards is the final goal included

Next is a goal against the Hammers, with Mo Salah’s deft touch and finish on the road – following a rapid counter-attack involving Trent Alexander-Arnold and Xherdan Shaqiri – on the list.

Bruno Fernandes’ curler from outside the box, in what proved to be a frustrating 3-3 draw against Everton for Manchester United, is the sixth goal, while Lamela’s inspired rabona for Spurs against Arsenal at the Emirates is the seventh strike.

The final two goals come from players contracted with Manchester United: Jesse Lingard’s run and finish on the counter for West Ham during his successful loan spell against Wolves, while Edinson Cavani’s 40-yard lob over Fulham keeper Alphonse Areola is the final goal on the shortlist.
