Lampard spotted with agents after ‘signing contract’ to become Everton boss

Frank Lampard has been seen with agents following a contract agreement to sign as Everton’s new manager.

The Telegraph’s Jason Burt posted pictures on his Twitter feed of the former Chelsea midfielder alongside agents Leon Angel and Frank Trimboli.

Lampard has already been putting plans in place as he has already informed Everton that he wants two members of his Chelsea backroom staff to join him at Goodison Park.

Indeed, after the Toffees offered Lampard the job after impressing in al second interview, the former England international has told the club hierarchy that he wants Joe Edwards and Anthony Barry, who were part of his Chelsea contingent, alongside him at Merseyside.

Everton are expected to agree to the terms, meaning the two coaches, who are still at Chelsea working along with Thomas Tuchel, will join up with Lampard in the northwest.

The decision will be down to them and Chelsea will not hold them against their will.

Everton offered their vacant managerial position to Lampard earlier this week after a rigorous search.

His last job was at Chelsea a year ago. The club legend was sacked in January 2021 after 18 months in charge

The 43-year-old was one of a number of candidates for the role. Portuguese Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson, who’s current caretaker, also had their second interviews for the job on Friday – but Everton decided to offer the position to Lampard.

If negotiations are wrapped up and finalised, he will take over from Rafal Benitez, who was sacked after winning just one of his last 13 games.

Wayne Rooney was also in contention for the role but announced that he turned down the chance to be interviewed as he wishes to remain with Derby County and focus on keeping them up in the Championship.

Everton are 16th in the table and just four points above the relegation zone.
