Kevin De Bruyne spotted leaving Etihad with Cristiano Ronaldo’s unused shirt

Manchester City's superstar Kevin De Bruyne was spotted leaving the Etihad Stadium with Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt on Sunday.

Ronaldo was snubbed for a starting spot in the Manchester derby by Erik ten Hag – who instead opted for the in-form Marcus Rashford. Ten Hag said he left Ronaldo on the bench "because of respect for Cristiano, for his big career."

But even without playing a minute, De Bruyne still asked the Portuguese megastar for his shirt after the full-time whistle. And De Bruyne headed through the mixed zone clutching the shirt as he gave his post-match interviews to the press.

De Bruyne was instrumental to City tearing apart Manchester United on Sunday afternoon as they hit the Red Devils for six.

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden grabbed all the headlines as each notched a hat-trick – Foden's first for City and Haaland's third in consecutive home games. De Bruyne himself bagged two assists in the clash – taking his assist tally to eight for the campaign.

De Bruyne was hooked in the 75th minute as Pep Guardiola looked to rest his star for the upcoming hectic schedule.

Roy Keane said after the clash: "I think Man United are showing disrespect to Ronaldo. I think he should have been let go before the [closing] of the window.

"Okay, you're the manager, you need options but you don't hold onto Ronaldo to sit on the bench. He's one of the greatest players ever. He's played him in one or two European games. It's just going to get uglier as the season goes on.

"If he's sitting on the bench for United, week in, week out it's just going to get uglier. I think United have shown nothing but disrespect to Ronaldo."
