Kayky transfer: Manchester City sign Brazilian prodigy from Fluminense

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Brazilian side Fluminense to sign the 17-year-old sensation Kayky. The forward will remain with his boyhood club until the end of the season.

Kayky has caught the attention in South America since making his professional debut 12 months ago, and his dribbling skill has drawn comparisons with a young Neymar.

The club gave few details but the transfer has been reported to be worth around £8m with additional payments depending on the teenager’s progress.

“We are delighted to confirm we have reached an agreement with Fluminese [sic] regarding the future transfer of Kayky,” City said in a short statement. “The teenage forward will remain with Fluminese until the end of the Brazilian season.”

City recently signed fellow Brazilian midfielder Diego Rosa, 18, from Gremio, before loaning him to fellow City Group club Lommel in Belgium. Kayky’s midfield teammate Metinho, 17, is also thought to be on their radar.
