Kane 'prepared to sign a new deal at Spurs if Bayern deal collapses'
Harry Kane ‘IS prepared to sign a new deal at Tottenham if his Bayern Munich deal collapses – so long as Ange Postecoglou’s side show significant improvement this season
- Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel refused to be drawn on Harry Kane transfer saga
- The German giants have been locked in talks with Tottenham this summer
- Kane has made it clear he won’t leave after start of Premier League season
Harry Kane is reportedly prepared to sign a new deal at Tottenham if his Bayern Munich deal collapses.
The 30-year-old has made it clear that he plans to stay at Spurs if he lines up at Brentford in their Premier League opener on August 13, believing it would be unfair on the club and new head coach Ange Postecoglou to leave after the start of the campaign.
And if he does stay put this summer, then Kane would consider opening talks on a new deal if they show significant progress on the pitch under Postecoglou, according to the Evening Standard.
Spurs are refusing to set a deadline on talks with Bayern over Kane, with the transfer window open until 11pm on September 1.
Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel kept tight-lipped when quizzed over his side’s ongoing pursuit of Kane on Tuesday.

The Bavarian titans have been locked in a transfer saga with Spurs throughout the summer, with Kane’s contract up next season and the German champions keen to reinforce their frontline.
However, despite Bayern’s best efforts they have been unable to coax an agreement to sell out of Daniel Levy, who is holding out for close to £100million for his most valuable asset.
Now though, Mail Sport understands Bayern are preparing a third bid that eclipses the £68m they paid for Lucas Hernandez in 2019 in a club-record £85m move for Kane.
Despite the story being perhaps the biggest of the summer, Tuchel refused to be drawn on whether there was likely to be a deal for the player.
When asked about the Kane situation, he simply offered : ‘No comment.’
Tuchel had previously claimed that it was no secret his side were in the market for a new No 9, but appeared somewhat more reticent when asked this time around.
The striker is open to a move to Germany and while Levy wants at least £100m for his star man, it is believed an offer in the region of £90m would tempt him.
Club executives Jan-Christian Dreesen and Marco Neppe flew into London for talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy on Monday.

The delegation landed back in Munich at 7.10PM on Monday following the aforementioned talks and the mood was positive among the pair.
Tottenham have been busy assessing forward options to fill the void if Kane does leave.
Bayern’s Mathys Tel has been mentioned, though he isn’t overly keen on a move, and Gift Orban of Genk is another thought to be under consideration.
Mail Sport reported on Monday how Spurs will also consider a deal for Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson if they do sell the England captain.
