Arsenal and Tottenham are set to go to battle in the transfer market as the race to sign Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski hots up. The Sweden international is being targeted by both north London clubs after becoming frustrated by his lack of game time at the Allianz Stadium and could seek a move away in January.

Kulusevski was signed by former boss Andrea Pirlo from Atalanta in January 2020 in a deal worth €35million (£29.2m), potentially rising to €44m (£36.7m) with add-ons included.

He then continued his loan spell with Parma for the rest of the season and finished the season with 10 goals and eight assists.

The attacking midfielder played a prominent role in his debut campaign with Juve, only missing three league games and scoring four goals under Pirlo.

He also set up one and scored another against his former club to help the Bianconeri win the Coppa Italia back in May.

But since Massimiliano Allegri’s return to the dugout in Turin, he has struggled for game time and is yet to score this season in 16 Serie A appearances, with only four of those coming as starts.

His only strike came in the Champions League against Zenit St Petersburg to secure a crucial 1-0 victory in Russia, having come off the bench to score the winner.

However, his lack of minutes under Allegri is starting to affect his morale and a report from Foot Mercato claims that the highly-rated attacking midfielder is looking for a way out of the club.

Kulusevski’s entourage are pressing for a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Tottenham both showing an interest.

He is under contract until June 2024 after penning a four-and-a-half-year deal when signing, allowing the Italian giants to demand a significant fee for his services.

Conte will also know Kulusevski from his time in charge of Inter Milan before leaving in June 2021

Juventus would be willing to part ways with Kulusevski but will know the Macedonian-born player would attract a sizeable fee that can ease the club’s financial concerns.

It is believed the Old Lady would demand the entirety of the €35m (£29.2m) fee be repaid in order to allow the midfielder to depart on a permanent transfer.

But there is also interest from Serie A strugglers Genoa in striking a loan deal, which may be the more likely option given the limited budget available in January.

It was reported in Italy last month that Spurs were considering offering players in part-exchange in order to smooth over the deal.

Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele have both been apparently offered as part of any potential, with the latter struggling to impress Conte so far at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
