Jurgen Klopps classy message to Cristiano Ronaldo after Liverpools top gesture

Jurgen Klopp has sent a classy message to Cristiano Ronaldo following the tragic death of the Manchester United forward's baby son.

The 37-year-old star missed United's trip to Anfield on Tuesday as he continues to grieve following the heartbreaking loss of his son. Ronaldo revealed on Monday night that he and partner Georgina Rodriguez, who had been pregnant with twins, had lost their son during childbirth. Their daughter was delivered safely.

Liverpool fans sent a message of support to Ronaldo in the seventh minute of the Premier League clash as they engaged in a minute's applause and sang their "You'll Never Walk Alone" anthem. Reflecting on Ronaldo's tragic news and the solidarity shown by everyone inside Anfield, Klopp said: "It was a real show of class.

"Obviously all of our thoughts from the moment we heard about it were with Cristiano and his family. I cannot even imagine how it must be and we really feel for him."

He added: "My moment of the game was the seventh minute when the whole stadium showed pure class, so many things are much more important in life than football. We feel for Cristiano and his family. That was my moment of the game."

United boss Rangnick was also asked for his thoughts on the tributes. He said: "The atmosphere is great, they love their team and [the fact] they joined in after seven minutes shows they respect that football is more than just supporting one team."
