Jurgen Klopp confirms fresh Liverpool injury blow ahead of Leicester showdown
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Fabinho is sidelined with a fresh muscle injury will play no part in Liverpool's trip to Leicester, in yet another defensive injury blow for the Reds.
Fabinho returned to fitness one week ago after his last muscle complaint to start the 4-1 defeat by Manchester City last Sunday.
But his latest setback leaves Liverpool light in central defence once again ahead of their trip to the King Power on Saturday.
Fabinho has admirably filled in at centre-back this season and in his absence Klopp may turn to one of his January signings – Ben Davies or Ozan Kabak – to plug the hole.
The Reds boss did not place a timescale on Fabinho's recovery and admits he may not be fit for a vital week which sees Liverpool take on RB Leipzig and Everton.
Klopp also provided updates on injured duo Naby Keita and Diogo Jota, neither of whom have featured in 2021.
"He (Keita) had a hamstring, a slightly bigger one. He is not training with the team yet," said Klopp.

The German added: "Diogo is close, but not as close as Naby. He is on the pitch as well. In rehab you have to train really intense before you get into team training.
"Diogo, two to three weeks maybe. That's kind of possible. Back in full training maybe and then see how long it takes."
Ahead of the trip to Leicester, Klopp opened up on the defensive sessions he has put Kabak and Davies through in a bid to deal with Foxes ace Jamie Vardy.

"Jamie is a proper challenge & it's a proper job to do. We had some sessions together where we could work on defensive sessions," said Klopp.
Vardy has recovered from a hip injury in time for the clash with Liverpool and has been in scintillating form this season, with 11 goals in 19 league games.
