Jurgen Klopp calls out body language of Liverpool players after Brighton slip-up
Jurgen Klopp was not impressed with the body language of his Liverpool players during their 2-2 draw at home to Brighton on Saturday.
The Reds threw away a two-goal lead on a disappointing afternoon at Anfield, which appeared a foregone conclusion when Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane got on the scoresheet inside the first 25 minutes.
Mane had the ball in the net nine minutes later when he capitalised on a mistake by Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, only for VAR replays to show he had handled the ball in the process.
The disallowed goal proved a significant moment in the game, as four minutes before the break Enock Mwepu curled home a terrific long-range strike to spark the visitors into life.
Brighton were a different animal after the interval and got their reward for some exquisite free-flowing football 20 minutes into the second session, with Leandro Trossard capping a superb move to complete the comeback.
They even came close to snatching all three points themselves when Trossard added another 15 minutes from time, but the linesman's flag for offside cut their celebrations short.

Three things Jurgen Klopp got right and two he got wrong as Liverpool held by Brighton
It was a frustrating day at the office for Liverpool, who now trail Premier League leaders Chelsea by three points in second.
And after watching his side blow a two-goal lead, Klopp called out some of his players for displaying negative body language during the draw.
“We didn’t defend the half-spaces right any more. That was our problem," the Reds boss said.
“With the way Brighton play, because they went adventurous a few times which was the right thing to do with three up front, in these moments if you don’t defend the half-spaces well then the last line has to drop a little bit which makes no sense because Brighton play between the lines.
“All of a sudden it’s hard to defend.
“People still don’t respect the quality Brighton have. They might not win 35 games a season but they give in 38 games each team a proper game because the things they do are really good.

“We opened the door for them and we paid the price.
“I could see second half I was not overly happy with the body language of some and that's obviously never helpful.
“You can get through these periods in a game, just not against Brighton because they were here to get a result, they got it and they deserved it.”
