Liverpool star Diogo Jota has joked that he will tell the club to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham this summer.

Bellingham, 18, has been linked with a move to the Premier League after impressing for the German giants in the Bundesliga following his £25million transfer from Birmingham City in 2020.

The England midfielder has become one of the brightest young talents in Europe and looks destined for a move to one of football’s biggest clubs in the not-too-distant future.

Meanwhile, Jota has become well-known for his ability on the video game FIFA, where he has previously done live streams on Twitch while playing the game.

And during his latest live stream after Liverpool’s 3-1 FA Cup over Cardiff City at Anfield, Jota discussed Bellingham and made a joke saying he would ask the club to sign the player so that he could use him in his FIFA team.

“On Tuesday I’m going to say, ‘we need to sign Bellingham’, so I can use his Future Stars card,” Jota said on Twitch.

Jota was on the scoresheet for Jurgen Klopp’s side during Sunday’s fourth round win over the Championship outfit.

The 25-year-old opened the scoring in the second half with a glancing header, before goals from Takumi Minamino and Harvey Elliott made sure of the win.

There was still time for Cardiff’s Rubin Colwill to pull a goal back for The Bluebirds, but it was too little too late and Liverpool progressed.

Liverpool will now meet Norwich City in the last-16 of the competition at Anfield on March 2.

But for now The Reds will switch their focus back to the Premier League where they will play host to Leicester on Thursday.

Liverpool then have a trip to relegation threatened Burnley next Sunday, before a trip to Italy to face Inter in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie three days later.
