Jorginho laughs at Chelsea teammate Ben Chilwell for ‘humble’ analysis

Jorginho could not resist laughing at Ben Chilwell for his ‘humble’ response to a question from a Sky Sports reporter.

In the wake of Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park, the defender was asked about his previous form and subsequent injury. Chilwell explained: “It’s going to take a while to get back into the way I was playing before my injury but -”

The reporter then gently interrupts: “Because you were flying, weren’t you?” To which Chilwell responded:: “I was yeah, but you know, I am just happy -” At this point Jorginho, who’s standing beside him, starts audibly laughing. “Very humble, very humble,” says the playmaker while patting Chilwell on the back.

The pair would be glad to get that vital first win of the season on the opening day of the Premier League season, with their fans in a recent poll via The Athletic proving to be one of the most pessimistic in the entire league.

Indeed, it was Jorginho’s penalty in stoppage time of the second half that saw the side pip club legend Frank Lampard to all three points on the night.

After the match, Thomas Tuchel refused to rule out bringing in more names to the side as the club look to continue its winning ways.

The Blues have splashed out with big fees on players such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling and Marc Cucurella – the German indicated that more recruits should come in to bolster the side, with a £80million swoop for Leicester's Wesley Fofana reportedly in the works.

Tuchel said in his post-match press conference: "If we can add, we will add. Maybe not necessarily midfielders as a first option but we are open for everything. I hope to use new energy and fresh input to take us to a new level. I think we could use some more input and some more quality."
