John Terry responds after Sergio Aguero becomes ‘full kit w****r’ at World Cup

John Terry was quick to respond after Sergio Aguero donned an Argentina shirt to celebrate with his former international team-mates after their World Cup triumph.

Lionel Messi stole the show as Lionel Scaloni's side beat France on penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra-time, with Aguero in the camp having roomed with the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner this week.

Despite having been forced to retire back in 2021 after being diagnosed with a cardiac arrhythmia, Aguero is still a hero in the Argentina squad and took his moment to celebrate their glory by wearing both a full match shirt and training shorts.

That of course led to comparisons to Chelsea icon Terry, who was suspended for the 2012 Champions League final but joined in with trophy celebrations in full kit, boots and even shin pads to be called a 'full kit w***er' by football fans.

Taking to Twitter with three laughing face emojis as well as an Argentina flag, trophy and blue love heart, Terry poked fun at his own actions from a decade ago.

He laughed: "If your going to do it, at least go for it and put the shin pads and boots on."

With Jamie Carragher among those to respond, the Liverpool hero put two laughing emojis on Twitter with fans enjoying Terry poking fun at himself.

Aguero, 34, went on to lift the trophy during celebrations having scored 41 goals across 101 appearances between 2006 and 2021, helping them to Copa America glory last year.

The Manchester City icon was also seen banging a drum as his jubilant countryman danced on the Lusail Stadium pitch, with celebrations no doubt going on into the night.

Scaloni said of the triumph: "I'm proud. I'm less excited than other days but today I'm free. This team only makes me proud, it's all theirs.

"I want to tell people to enjoy because this is a historic moment.

"It's a time to enjoy. We're used to being hit, that's why we know how to be through thick and thin. Being at the top is something unique, an incredible enjoyment."
