John Terry has net worth ‘five times bigger’ than Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
Chelsea legend John Terry is estimted to have a net worth five times bigger than Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle.
The former Blues defender, 40, enjoyed a 20-year career where he captained both his club and country, becoming one of the Premier League’s greatest ever centre-backs.
Terry followed up his glittering Chelsea career which included a Champions League winners’ medal and three league titles with a move to Aston Villa, where he remained as assistant manager until the end of last season.
And he has reaped the huge financial rewards of his success, having even surpassed royals Prince Harry and Meghan in terms of estimated wealth.
Terry was ranked in 2017 by Business Insider as one of the top ten richest footballers in the world with an estimated net worth of $50million (£39million).
At that time he was an Aston Villa player earning considerably less than his Chelsea salary but it is reported his net worth has now shot up to around $70million (£51million) following his stint as an assistant coach.
This means Terry as a former professional footballer is now worth significantly more than Harry and Meghan, who withdrew from their official duties earlier this year.
That resulted in the royal couple no longer receiving money from the Crown via the Sovereign Grant but still possessing sizeable wealth from various streams.

Forbes report the 37-year-old Prince’s primary source of wealth lies in the £7.3million inheritance he received from his late mother’s estate, as well as the £50,000 a year salary he earned as a British army captain.
Meanwhile, the couple’s combined wealth is estimated to be around £7.3million, despite having bought a £10.7million estate in Montecito, California and still having their UK home, Frogmore.
That is set to drastically increase following a lucrative £73million contract with Netflix signed in 2020 to produce various documentaries and feature films.
They have also signed a three-year podcasting deal with Spotify which could add up to around £11million.
