Jesus’ mammoth salary demands sees Man City star offered to two Arsenal rivals

Gabriel Jesus might just have priced Arsenal out of a transfer with his wage demands while Manchester City have already offered his services to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Mikel Arteta is now sweating over the Brazilian's decision after being largely confident that a deal could be struck earlier in the summer. The 26-year-old is one of the top targets at the Emirates this transfer window.

The Spaniard has made signing a striker a priority and several have been linked including Lautaro Martinez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Alexander Isak. But Jesus has always been the prime target amid his woes at City.

However, according to Cadena Ser, the former Palmeiras star has demanded £4.3million after tax per year, putting any move to Arsenal at a risk. City have wasted no time for their answer, as well, by offering Jesus to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Arteta is believed to hold a great working relationship with the forward from his time as assistant coach to Pep Guardiola at City. However, the prospect of Champions League football with Real and Atletico might be too much to turn down while an Etihad departure looks almost certain.

Ahead of the arrival of Erling Haaland, the Norwegian is expected to be handed a key role in the squad. That will only further push Jesus down the pecking order and a move away this summer is on the cards.

While that position has given Arsenal confidence, their late-season bloopers saw them miss out on a Champions League spot after losses to Tottenham and Newcastle saw their local rivals pip them to fourth in the Premier League. That has already had an impact in the transfer window with their income taking a hit and meeting Jesus' wage demands might prove a problem while his transfer fee could be as high as £50m.
