Chelsea’s £32m summer signing Nicolas Jackson has hailed his ‘amazing’ new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Senegal international Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal last month – signing an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Jackson scored and provided two assists in Chelsea’s 4-3 friendly win over Brighton in the USA and is certainly relishing working under Pochettino, saying that the manager is making it clear that he is the one in charge.
The 22-year-old added that he doesn’t have any problems with the amount of running that he has been asked to do since his arrival.
Jackson told Chelsea’s official website: ‘You just know he is the man, the one in charge. Let me repeat. I am so, so happy right now. Pochettino is amazing. The running is fine, some players would say it’s not, but for me, no problem.’

Jackson added: ‘He is a fantastic coach, I watched him for many years now and I know he is a massive coach. He is one of the best in the world so I am very happy to work with him, and I hope we do amazing things together.’
Chelsea have further friendlies to come against Newcastle, Fulham and Borussia Dortmund, and Jackson will be determined to continue making an impact as he stakes a claim for frequent involvement when the real action gets underway.
Jackson added that he will be ‘speechless’ when he scores his first goal at Stamford Bridge.
He said: ‘So when I score my first goal at the Bridge, I think I will be speechless. All I’ll say is, just you wait for my big smile! Blues, thank you for welcoming me with open arms. I feel the love already.’
There has been a significant amount of change already at Chelsea during this transfer window, with Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang no longer at the club.
In addition to Jackson, Chelsea have also signed Christopher Nkunku and teenagers Diego Moreira and Angelo Gabriel.
