Jack Grealish buy-out clause ‘exists’ in Villa deal despite Dean Smith denial
Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City and he reportedly has a buy-out clause in his contract.
According to the Daily Mail, the clause was part of the new five-year contract Grealish signed in September 2020.
Villa boss Dean Smith has denied that this is the cause, but the report states that they have 'been told with certainty it exists'.
The Athletic report that it would take a fee of around £100m to prise Grealish away from Villa Park.
However, Villa are desperate to keep hold of the attacker and the Mirror are reporting that they have opened talks over a new contract.
It is claimed that they have already informed Grealish's representatives that they do not want to let him go, but a decision on the player's future is not expected until after Euro 2020 is over.
Grealish is currently starring for England at the tournament and he helped the Three Lions beat Germany 2-0 in their last 16 clash.
The 25-year-old was brought on in the 69th minute and he featured in the build-up to Raheem Sterling's opener, before assisting Harry Kane's goal.
Speaking after the game, Grealish told BBC Sport: "He [Southgate] just told me to go on and express myself, and play the way I usually do, with a smile on my face.
"I went on and did that, and luckily for me I created one of the goals."
He added: "[I] Absolutely loved it. It’s always nice when the fans are calling your name, but it’s not about me, it’s about the team.

"I just come on, try to create and obviously I came on, played a part in the first goal and got the assist for the second so I think it was a good performance from myself.
"When I first came on I was slipping all over the place actually but in the end it ended well."
Grealish and England will be back in action on Saturday when they face Ukraine in the quarter-finals.
