Icardi’s public spat with wife Wanda Nara could have repercussions on PSG career

Mauro Icardi has threatened to quit Paris Saint-Germain if his wife and agent Wanda Nara leaves him.

The Argentine striker has cast doubt over his future with the French giants after his well-documented relationship with wife Nara hit the rocks last weekend.

The pair’s dirty laundry has been aired in public over the last few days following an Instagram post by Nara on Saturday night accusing Icardi of cheating.

Nara, 34, unfollowed her husband, 28, on the social media app before posting a furious message to her Instagram story which read: “Another family that you have ruined for a s***”.

The forward’s future with PSG now looks uncertain as the saga has taken yet another twist.

According to RMC Sport, the former Inter Milan forward has threatened to leave PSG if his wife follows through with claims that she is filing for divorce.

An exit from the French capital would have significant repercussions for Nara who also acts as Icardi’s agent and manages her husband’s career.

The controversial couple have been married for seven-and-a-half years after initially hooking up back in 2013 while model and TV personality Nara was married to Icardi’s former Sampdoria teammate and close friend Maxi Lopez.

The couple have two daughters together along with three sons from Nara’s previous marriage to Lopez.

Icardi was reportedly given two days off for ‘personal reasons’ where he skipped training alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar so he could fly to Milan for showdown talks with his wife.

Despite this, Icardi has been included in PSG’s Champions League squad to face RB Leipzig at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night, manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed.

"Regarding Mauro Icardi and his personal problems, he could not train today, but he is in the group for tomorrow," Pochettino revealed at his Monday press conference.

“We'll see this (Monday) night what the situation is and whether he can play or not."

PSG currently sit joint top of Group A, alongside Belgian outfit Club Brugge, after two games played having beaten Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City last time out, in a match which saw Messi net his first PSG goal.
