Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has claimed that his side’s poor first half performance against Leeds United on Sunday will not be repeated, after the north London side were booed off at the break.
Spurs found themselves a deserved goal down to Daniel James’ strike a minute before half-time in Antonio Conte’s first Premier League home game since taking over earlier in the month.
The goal capped off another miserable 45 minutes for the Tottenham, who at the break extended an unwanted record of going six consecutive top flight halves without having a shot on target.

Speaking on the boos, the midfielder admitted that he could sympathise with the actions of the furious supporters.
He said: ‘I kind of understand it. I hope it won’t happen again but I understand there are high demands, high pressure.
‘The fans have great expectations because we’re a great team, so I take that as a compliment.

But Spurs picked up performance in the second half with Hojbjerg equalising for the home side
Following a half-time rallying from Conte, Spurs came flying out of the blocks in the second period and soon grabbed an equaliser through Hojbjerg, before Sergio Reguilon pounced on a loose Eric Dier free-kick to complete the 2-1 turnaround at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Hojbjerg was also quick to praise the support of the home fans in the second half.
‘We’re here to perform well and let the fans celebrate, which is the main thing,’ he added.

‘We did that in the second half and the fans were incredible in the second half also, so let’s try to do that from the start.’
Victory took Conte’s side up to seventh in the table and on the fringes of the battle for the top four with London rivals West Ha, holding the final Champions League spot four points ahead of them in the table.
Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also in close contention between the two London sides.
