Henderson ‘frustrated’ at Man Utd and will ask to leave if he’s not made No.1
Dean Henderson could force a move away from Manchester United should be remain behind David de Gea in the pecking order for the remainder of the season.
The England international has made 12 appearances in all competitions and kept seven clean sheets, but only three of those outings have been in the Premier League.
Henderson’s decision to remain at Old Trafford and sign a new contract came as a surprise to some after his impressive loan spell at Sheffield United, with game time not guaranteed.
Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has backed Henderson to have a fine career with United, he has shown faith in his Spanish stopper throughout the cutest campaign.
MEN have reported that Henderson has been left ‘frustrated’ by his lack of Premier League playing time, and he has no intention of being second choice for much longer.
They add that each of Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham have expressed an interest in the 23-year-old, despite his new contract running until 2025.
That gives United all the power in any potential negotiations, and he could cost around £40m should United agree to any sale in the summer.
When asked if Henderson could start against Newcastle following the win over Real Sociedad last week, Solskjaer said: “Of course Dean is in with a shout.
“We pick a team on Saturday and Dean was very solid, good kicking and he could or should have had an assist for Marcus [Rashford], which is another thing we worked on.
“He was clean in his handling, clean in his short passes and it was a good performance.
