Havertz’s X-rated interview as question triggers Chelsea’s Champions League hero

Kai Havertz gave an X-rated interview after getting triggered by a post-match interview question following Chelsea’s Champions League final win.

The German, who cost the club a record £72m to buy last summer from Bayer Leverkusen, provided the winning goal in a 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Receiving a ball in the 42nd-minute from Mason Mount, the 21-year-old skipped past Ederson before slotting into an open net.

Amid the chaos of the post-match celebrations, Havertz gave an interview which saw him give an expletive response to a question.

BT Sport reporter Des Kelly was responding to comments made by captain Cesar Azpilicueta by asking: “There’s a lot pressure on you as the most expensive Chelsea player ever.

“Does this make it seem as if you’ve paid it back all in one night?”

But Havertz, looking frustrated, replies live on TV: "To be honest, right now, I don’t give a f*** about that.

“We won the f***ing Champions League and we’re celebrating right now.”

Kelly is left to awkwardly apologise as Azpilicueta laughs with the young midfielder before he walks away to join the celebrations.

Earlier in the interview, Havertz said: “I don’t know what to say, I really don’t know what to say. We deserved it, now we celebrate.

“I waited a long time, I just want to thank my family, my parents, my brother, my sister, my grandmother, my girlfriend. I don’t know what to say.”

The BT Sport interview was then crashed by Azpilicueta, who bundled in to give the 21-year-old a huge hug in front of the fans at the Estadio do Dragao, Porto.

Chelsea’s captain said: “He deserves that, his mentality is top, this guy. He’s going to be a superstar, he is already.

“Not only that, he ran like crazy, that’s the team work, that’s why he deserves this.”

Havertz’s goal was his ninth of the season since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, adding nine assists to the tally for his debut season.
