Harry Kane hints at future NFL career during appearance on US talk show

Harry Kane has hinted he could make a switch to the NFL once he has hung his boots at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Englishman was appearing on the American talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday evening. Fallon said: "If ever emergency need be, and they need a kicker, for the Buccaneers, or the Giants, or the New York Jets, could you step in?

"Would you be a good kicker? Could you kick field goals?" And Kane responded: "Erm, I mean, I feel like I could! I'd put myself up there for sure." Fallon then joked he would love to welcome Kane to New York.

Kane has already spoken about his NFL dream in 2019: "Of course, there's a lot of technically very gifted players and in NFL kicking, a lot of players can kick it far and high.

"But I guess it all comes down to who can handle the pressure the best and I feel like the more I watch it, the more I see that, you know, in the big situations.

"A lot of times the game goes down to a last-minute field goal, last-second field goal.

"So I'd like to think kind my experience of dealing with that in soccer would put me maybe at an advantage compared to some of the other guys who haven't had that experience, maybe coming out of college or things like that.

"So I guess that's the I'm banking on, of course. But yeah, like I said, it's early stages, but I look forward to hopefully exploring that one day."

Kane also indulged Fallon with a game of mini-foosball during his appearance on the American chat show. The England international showed he hadn't lost his scoring touch in the close season as he defeat Fallon 2-0 in front of a frenzied audience.
