Harry Kane remains confident that Tottenham will let him join Manchester City this summer, according to reports. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been steadfast in his refusal to entertain offers for the club’s most prized asset, but Kane has still not given up on his attempts to force through an exit.
Tottenham are trying their best to show their ambition this summer as they plan a rebuild under manager Nuno Espirito Santo and director of football Fabio Paratici.
After the start of the window was lost amid Levy’s chaotic search for a new manager, Spurs have started to get their act together in the past few weeks.
Bryan Gil is set to arrive from Sevilla in a £21.6million deal which will also send Erik Lamela to the Spanish club.
Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini is on his way to London to seal a loan move with the option to make it permanent for £13m, while Paratici is also negotiating for his team-mate, highly-rated centre-back Cristian Romero.
Meanwhile, Spurs can also point to the fact that Son Heung-min signed a new four-year contract on Friday as proof of their ambition for the 2021/22 season.

Yet Kane has grown tired of Spurs’ lack of progression and wants to move to Man City in order to fulfil his ambition of winning a trophy – something he is still yet to manage.
The problem for the 27-year-old is that he still has three years left on his Spurs contract and Levy has made it clear he does not want to sell, especially to a Premier League rival.
However, The Times reports that Kane has taken heart from what he sees as a softening in Tottenham’s stance.
Man City saw a £100m bid rejected out of hand by Spurs last month but are not giving up on their pursuit of the England captain.
The report says City are willing to offer the £100m they have already bid plus some of their players.

The Sun has reported that Kane is poised for a £160m transfer to City after Levy agreed he could join another Premier League club.
City are reportedly willing to pay Kane £400,000 per week, but The Guardian says Pep Guardiola’s side are not willing to shell out that much for the striker.
Spurs have once again pushed back against the suggestion he will leave, but it seems Kane, who is currently away on holiday after Euro 2020, will not give up on his desire to leave before deadline day on August 31.
