Hakimi and Martinez's agent insists 'ALL players have a price'

Achraf Hakimi and Lautaro Martinez’s agent insists ‘ALL players have a price’ as Inter Milan pair generate widespread interest… with newly-crowned Serie A champions in need of lucrative player sales this summer to ease financial concerns

  • Inter Milan are set to sell-off some key men this summer amid financial trouble
  • The Italian champions reportedly need to generate £86.5m to stay afloat
  • Achraf Hakimi and Lautaro Martinez are two big stars attracting interest
  • The pair’s agent has hinted the Inter players could be on the move this summer

Achraf Hakimi and Lautaro Martinez could be following Antonio Conte through the San Siro exit this summer, with the pair’s agent suggesting Inter Milan will sell for the right price.

Conte made the shock decision to quit the new Italian champions after bringing a nine-year wait for Serie A glory to an end, leaving in fury after learning the extent of Inter’s financial trouble.

The club’s wage budget must be slashed by 20 per cent and around £86.5m raised from player sales before the window slams shut, meaning some key title-winning players could leave.

The pair’s title winning coach Antonio Conte has now left, with the club in a poor financial state

Since his emergence as one of Europe’s most deadly strikers, Martinez has been a target for a host of elite clubs, including Barcelona. Hakimi played a critical role last season, attracting attention from Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid.

‘In the future I don’t know, all players have a price and I believe that if all of Europe has seen Inter and their title-winning football, all the players will be taken into consideration,’ the stars’ agent, Alejandro Camano, told Telelombardia.

‘There is no situation at the moment (with Hakimi). I haven’t talked to any club and I don’t think Inter have either. It is a difficult time for football, there is a difficult economic situation.

‘It is not easy to get out of this complicated situation due to Covid-19. I think it is not possible today to say who will leave Inter to fix this difficult economic situation.

The players are among the most highly-rated in their positions and will attract summer interest

Hakimi played all but one of Inter’s 38 matches this season, playing a key role in the title win

‘He (Hakimi) is very young, joining Inter was a very intelligent decision. When the transfer window opens, we receive calls you for players, for all the players.

‘The transfer market begins and if Inter are in trouble we will understand what to do. The market will tell.’

Hakimi still has four years left on his deal with the San Siro side, while Martinez is two years away from the expiration of his deal, making exits for both players more complicated.

The pair’s prolific team-mate Romelu Lukaku is also being touted for a move away, with the new champions of Europe, Chelsea, aiming to bring the powerhouse striker back to Stamford Bridge.
