Haaland tells Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea he wants five-year £78m package
Norway sensation Erling Braut Haaland will demand a five-year package worth £78million to move clubs this summer.
That is the massive figure, worth a basic £300,000-a-week, being quoted to a clutch of clubs chasing the prolific Borussia Dortmund striker.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all in the hunt to sign Haaland, 20, who has struck 25 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.
The hitman’s representative is super-agent Mino Raiola, who also looks after Old Trafford midfielder Paul Pogba.
All interested parties have been informed what it will cost in personal terms alone to persuade Haaland to exit Dortmund and join them at the end of this season.
Although there is a £68m buy-out clause in his contract with the Germans, that cannot be triggered before the summer of 2022.
However, Dortmund are unlikely to wait that long to sell Haaland when they can expect to get at least £100m this July – such is the demand for his signature.
That means it is going to come down to a straight financial scrap between the giants of Europe – with whoever produces the most lucrative deal winning.
